The Best Motorcycle Helmets for Avid Motorcycle Enthusiasts.

What Are the Different Types of Motorcycle Helmets?

There are seven main types of motorcycle helmets — full-face, modular, dual-sport, off-road, open-face, half, and Bluetooth — and the best one depends on how and where you ride.

Full-face helmets give the most protection, modular helmets add a flip-up chin bar for convenience, and lighter open-face and half helmets trade coverage for airflow and a classic look. Shop by type:

Shop Motorcycle Helmets by Brand

We're an authorized dealer for every major helmet brand — Shoei, Arai, HJC, Bell, Scorpion, AGV, Icon, Z1R, Daytona, Soman, and Sena — so every helmet is genuine and fully warrantied.

  • Shoei — hand-built Japanese helmets prized for quiet aerodynamics and refined comfort.
  • Arai — the R75 round-shell philosophy for superior glancing-off protection and custom fit.
  • HJC — outstanding value with race-derived technology and licensed graphics.
  • Bell — a heritage American brand spanning street, off-road, and racing.
  • Scorpion EXO — feature-rich helmets with drop-down sun shields at a competitive price.
  • AGV — MotoGP-bred performance and aggressive sport styling.
  • Icon — bold, urban-styled helmets and riding gear.
  • Z1R — reliable, budget-friendly protection in every helmet style.
  • Daytona — lightweight, low-profile helmets popular with cruiser riders.
  • Soman — value-focused helmets for everyday riding.
  • Sena — helmets with built-in Sena communication systems.

How Do I Choose the Right Motorcycle Helmet?

Match the helmet's size and shape to your head, then pick a style and safety rating that fit how you ride — the right helmet feels snug with even pressure and no gaps.

  • Measure right — widest part of the head, level, about an inch above your eyebrows; measure twice and use the larger number.
  • Mind your head shape — round, intermediate, or long oval; this matters as much as size.
  • Snug, not painful — the liner breaks in about 15–20%, so it should start firm.
  • Between sizes? Size down, and fine-tune with replacement cheek pads.
Find your exact size: our brand-by-brand sizing charts cover every helmet we carry, plus how to measure and match your head shape.

Are Your Motorcycle Helmets DOT Approved?

Yes — With the exception of Novelty Helmets, every motorcycle helmet we sell meets or exceeds the DOT FMVSS 218 standard required for legal U.S. street use, and many also carry ECE 22.06 or Snell certification.

For the widest safety margin, look for a helmet that carries both a DOT sticker (the U.S. legal minimum) and ECE 22.06, the current international standard that adds rotational-impact and multi-speed testing. Race-focused models often add voluntary Snell M2020/M2025 approval.

Helmet Shields, Parts & Fitment

Keep your helmet performing like new with the right shields, anti-fog inserts, and comfort parts — all matched to your exact model.

How Do I Care for a Motorcycle Helmet?

Clean the shell and visor with mild soap and lukewarm water, hand-wash the removable liner, and keep the visor clear with an anti-fog insert.

  • Shell & visor — lukewarm water and a microfiber cloth; avoid harsh chemicals on matte finishes.
  • Liner & pads — hand-wash and air dry; refresh with new liners and cheek pads.
  • Stay fog-free with a Pinlock or anti-fog insert, and keep a spare visor/shield on hand.
  • Lifespan — replace after any impact or about every five years.

Motorcycle Helmet FAQs

What types of motorcycle helmets do you sell?

We carry full-face, modular (flip-up), dual-sport/adventure, off-road/motocross, open-face, half, and Bluetooth-ready helmets. Full-face helmets offer the most protection, while modular helmets add the convenience of a flip-up chin bar.

Which motorcycle helmet brands do you carry?

We're an authorized dealer for Shoei, Arai, HJC, Bell, Scorpion, AGV, Icon, Z1R, Daytona, Soman, and Sena. Because we're authorized, every helmet is genuine and backed by the full manufacturer warranty.

How do I choose the right motorcycle helmet size?

Measure around the widest part of your head about an inch above your eyebrows, match it to the brand's chart, and pick a snug fit. Between sizes, size down. See our sizing charts for every brand we carry.

Are your motorcycle helmets DOT approved?

Yes. Every helmet we stock meets or exceeds the DOT FMVSS 218 standard, and many also carry ECE 22.06 or Snell certification for an even higher level of verified protection.

What's the difference between a full-face and a modular helmet?

A full-face helmet has a fixed chin bar for the most consistent protection and the quietest, lightest ride. A modular helmet's chin bar flips up for convenience at stops, for glasses wearers, and for easy communication, at a slightly higher weight.

How often should I replace my motorcycle helmet?

Replace your helmet after any crash or impact, and otherwise about every five years, since the protective foam and materials degrade over time even if the shell looks fine.
