When Gino Amisano started making leather motorcycle helmets in Valenza, Italy in 1947, he was operating on a simple conviction: riders deserved better protection than anyone was giving them. The company he built from that idea — AGV, short for Amisano Gino Valenza — grew into one of the most storied names in motorsport history, a brand whose helmets have been worn by 15-time world champion Giacomo Agostini, nine-time MotoGP champion Valentino Rossi, and a generation of champions in between. More than 75 years later, that founding conviction still drives every helmet AGV makes.

AGV's legacy on the racetrack is unmatched. They produced Europe's first full-face helmet in 1969. They pioneered fiberglass construction in 1954 at a time when leather was the standard. The modern Pista GP RR — AGV's flagship racing helmet — carries FIM homologation, the highest certification available in professional motorcycle racing, making it one of the few helmets on earth legal for use at the MotoGP level. The philosophy behind that transfer is called Extreme Safety — the design protocol AGV introduced in 2007 when they became part of the Dainese Group. Every component — the shell shape, EPS density layering, visor mechanism, ventilation channels, interior fit system — is engineered around maximizing protection for the actual human head inside the helmet, not just passing laboratory certification tests. AGV helmets are tested at up to 15 impact points, at speeds that exceed standard requirements, and multi-density EPS liners are calibrated zone-by-zone to match the energy absorption needed at each location. The K3 brings Extreme Safety engineering to a more accessible price point without cutting corners — high-resistance thermoplastic shell, multi-density EPS, an integrated drop-down sun visor, and a Pinlock MaxVision anti-fog insert included in the box. For riders newer to the sport or working within a tighter budget, the K1 S provides the same certified protection philosophy in an honest, well-made entry-level full-face. The adventure and dual-sport rider has the AX9, AGV's versatile 4-in-1 configuration helmet that converts between full-face, open-face, peak, and no-peak configurations depending on the terrain. And for riders who want the freedom of a modular without sacrificing the protection profile of a full-face, the Sportmodular — AGV's carbon fiber flip-front — remains one of the most capable and lightweight modular helmets ever produced.
