Why buy the HJC F71 Solids + SMART HJC 50B from The Helmet Shop?
Most retailers ship the helmet and the headset in separate boxes and leave the installation, charging and pairing to you. At The Helmet Shop, we install, charge and test every Bluetooth headset in the helmet before it ships. When two helmets are ordered together, we pair the two headsets to each other, so rider and passenger (or two riding partners) are talking within seconds of opening the boxes.
- No tools, no wiring, no hunting for the speaker pockets
- No waiting for a first charge
- No pairing sequences or app setup required to start talking
- A genuine HJC helmet and a genuine SMART HJC headset with full manufacturer warranties

Frequently asked questions
Is the SMART HJC 50B already installed in the F71?
Yes. Every HJC F71 Solids + SMART HJC 50B ships with the SMART HJC 50B installed in the helmet by The Helmet Shop. We also fully charge the headset and test the speakers, microphone, controls and Bluetooth connection before it leaves our shop, so it's ready to ride out of the box.
If I order two helmets, will the headsets talk to each other?
Yes. When two helmet-and-headset combos are ordered together, we pair the two headsets to each other (Mesh Intercom) before shipping. Power them on and you can talk to your passenger or riding partner right away – no manuals or pairing steps needed.
Does the SMART HJC 50B fit the F71?
Yes. The F71 is SMART HJC ready, and 2nd-generation SMART HJC units are designed with Sena to fit HJC's Smart-ready helmets, including the RPHA 91, RPHA 72, RPHA 71, RPHA 31, i91, i71, F71 and F31. It mounts in the helmet's built-in pockets with no clamp on the shell.
How many riders can the SMART HJC 50B connect to?
Sena Mesh Intercom (Open Mesh and Group Mesh) for group rides with up to 2 km (1.2 mi) of range, plus 4-way Bluetooth intercom and Universal Intercom for other brands.
How long does the SMART HJC 50B battery last?
HJC rates it at up to 13 hours of use per charge. It charges by USB; remove the helmet from your head while charging.
50B, 21B or 11B – which SMART HJC should I choose?
The 50B is HJC's top unit with Sena Mesh for group rides, 2 km range, voice commands and FM radio. The 21B offers 4-way Bluetooth intercom (1.6 km) for less, and the 11B covers rider-to-passenger (2-way, 400 m).
What sizes are available?
This combo is offered in sizes XS, S, M, L, XL, XXL (availability varies by color). Measure around your head just above the eyebrows and choose from HJC's size chart. Contact The Helmet Shop if you're between sizes.
Can I buy the helmet and headset separately?
Yes, but the combo saves you the installation work: The Helmet Shop installs the SMART HJC 50B, routes the speakers and microphone, charges the battery and tests everything, and pairs two-helmet orders together.
Is the warranty affected by installation?
No. You receive a genuine HJC helmet and a genuine SMART HJC headset, each covered by its manufacturer's warranty (3 years from purchase / 5 years from manufacture on the helmet; 1 year on the SMART HJC 50B).
