Arai helmets are premium, and you pay for hand-built Japanese construction, head-shape-specific fits, the R75 glancing-off shell design, and certification that exceeds Snell M2020 and DOT. For riders who prioritize fit and protection, they're widely considered worth the investment, and they carry a 5-year warranty. Where are Arai helmets made? Every Arai helmet is hand-built and inspected in Japan by the family-owned company, using a labor-intensive process for each shell. How do I know which Arai fits my head shape? Most riders are intermediate oval (Corsair-X, Contour-X, Regent-X). If your head is longer front-to-back, you're likely long oval (Signet-X); if it's rounder, you're round oval (Quantum-X). Check our sizing charts, and try one on if you can. Why don't Arai helmets have drop-down sun visors? Arai avoids internal sun visors on purpose. The hollow space required to house a drop-down visor would compromise the shell and EPS, which would disqualify the helmet from Snell certification. Arai prioritizes shell integrity, so you use an external visor or sunglasses instead. Are Arai helmets Snell certified? Yes. Arai's street and racing helmets are built to meet DOT and to exceed Snell M2020, one of the most demanding voluntary safety standards in the world. What is the R75 shape?
